About Me

My Philosophy

Imagine better managing the tension, stress and noise of our everyday life. Where, no matter what is happening around you, you can remain calm and centred.

The ancient practice of yoga can bring you to this place, this is what I strive to pass on to all of my students. For me, yoga is for everyone and for every situation.

Yoga includes a physical practice. By adapting my teaching to individual requirements and abilities I aim to help you gain a better understanding of your body. With safe and appropriate practice you will achieve the maximum benefit and healing. I qualified from the Karuna School of Teacher Training in Iyengar style yoga and have been teaching since 2003. In 2007 I completed my ’ Structural Yoga Therapy’ training with Mukunda Stiles and in 2013- 14 undertook a post graduate anatomy course run by Gary Carter.

Both these paradigms emphasise how physiological differences affect the practice.
Adapting one’s practice can help prevent, alleviate and sometimes resolve, specific problems. I have a particular interest in the back and am a registered teacher of
Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs.

To balance physical practice with mental health and stress management techniques I have studied meditation and mindfulness with Thích Nhất Hạnh and yoga Nidra with the Satyananda School.

I regularly attend workshops and conferences to improve and extend my own practice. I enjoy applying this new knowledge for the benefit of my students.

All my lessons are given with an emphasis on the breath, working safely and, most importantly, with a sense of humour and enjoyment.

The practice of Yoga reminds us how precious life is and encourages us to be at peace with ourselves and the world!
